How to wash hair with a shampoo cake?

Is the shampoo cake foaming?

A common misconception is that a handmade shampoo cake does not create any lather and is therefore difficult to use for hair washing. But that's not true at all! Shampoo cakes actually make a fantastic fluffy lather! However, a different technique is required when using a solid shampoo. As our natural shampoo cake does not contain water, it is good to rub some foam between your hands, just as you would with regular soap, before applying it to your hair. Washing your hair with our shampoo cake is actually quite easy!

Do this:

  • Wet the hair
  • To use the shampoo cake, rub it between your hands until it forms a light lather.
  • Massage the shampoo cake into your hair until it begins to foam properly.
  • When you have created a lather, massage through the entire hair.
  • Rinse out.
  • Now you can use your regular conditioner.

After using handmade shampoo bars for some time, you will notice the amazing benefit that your hair stays clean longer and requires less frequent washing. An adaptation period is not needed because shampoo bars contain the same cleansing ingredients as liquid shampoo. But the surfactants in a high-quality shampoo bar are significantly milder and gentler on your scalp. Unlike liquid shampoo, which often contains strong surfactants, natural shampoo bars do not create a vicious cycle for your hair. The strong surfactants in liquid shampoo can clean too effectively and upset the natural oil balance in the hair, resulting in hair quickly becoming greasy and needing to be washed more often.
